2 Killed 1 In Critical Condition In Police Chase After Catalytic Converter Theft Officials Say

At about 3:43 p.m., three catalyst theft suspects led lawmakers to a chase in the east lanes of State Highway 99 on Gleannloch Forest Road. The suspects lost control of their car, overturned, hit several trees and then caught fire, according to Captain James Blackledge of the Harris County Constable Precinct 4. “The vehicle caught fire after the collision,” said Captain Blackledge. “We only had one unit. It was near them when it crashed. It quickly got out of the vehicle, took out one male who was still alive and extinguished the vehicle with a fire extinguisher.” The injured suspect was transported by Life Flight in critical condition.
