Police dog, Mysan Kelowna RCMP is working to identify a third suspect involved in a gas theft incident Wednesday morning. Two of the men who escaped from police during the incident were arrested by police dog Mysan. The RCMP responded to a report of a gas theft shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday at a construction site in the area of ​​Highway 33 and Pyman Street. Police received information that three male suspects driving a U-Haul van were filling large barrels of gas stored in the back of the van. Police tried to stop the cube van as it was leaving the construction site and the occupants fled the vehicle on foot. The Kelowna RCMP Services police dog helped search for the suspects who escaped to the wooded area. “PDS dog Mysan and his handler located the suspects and located two of those found both hidden in the woods,” Cpl said. The two suspects were slightly injured and taken to hospital. “It was a good job for Mysan and his pilot, who joined the Kelowna Regional RCMP Police Dog Services team in May 2021.” A 35-year-old man and a 39-year-old man are facing charges of being arrested for stealing less than $ 5,000 and fleeing from police.
