The Major League 2022 Baseball season is just one day away. Starting Day is a week later than originally planned, but fortunately for baseball games, we will still have a full 162 season in 2022. Starting Day on the horizon means one thing: it’s time for predictions. Our Eye on Baseball team will present our predictions for the finish line by category here along with the playoff options and, of course, the World Series. We will find a lot of deals across staff for non-candidates (sorry, Orioles and A fans) and candidates (hello, Dodgers and Astros). We seem to like AL East (non-Orioles type) and AL Central being quite competitive. A good turnaround for this season is the extra wild team per league, allowing some categories to win three – or even four! – Teams in the post-season. Let’s get it! So we are high on the Dodgers and Blue Jays and there is no love for champion Braves defenders to repeat. MLB did not have a repeat champion from the Yankees in 1998-2000, remember.
