The accident happened on Low Lane, between Hilton and Ingleby Barwick, shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, April 11th. According to eyewitness accounts, an ambulance was present at the scene, along with several other police vehicles and two fire engines.
Low Lane was still closed by police an hour after the incident at the intersection near the Fox Covert pub. The North East Ambulance Service confirmed that it had contacted the Great North Air Ambulance after the collision. We sent an ambulance, an ambulance crew, a paramedic and an officer from, Great North Air Ambulance Service. “A patient was transported by road to James Cook Hospital.” Teesside Live approached Cleveland Police and the Great North Air Ambulance for comment.
