Jones claimed that his doctor advised him to avoid deposition due to health problems. But his lawyers later acknowledged that, during his alleged illness, Jones left home to film his show.
As of April 1, Jones has paid a total of $ 75,000 in court that fined him for non-compliance, according to records by Cameron Atkinson’s lawyer. On Wednesday, his lawyers asked the court to return these fines now that he has complied with the filing request.
Jones’s lawyers asked the judge to remove the contempt order from last week and note that Jones no longer needs to pay a daily fine now that he has complied, according to the testimony.
Genesis Communications, which distributes Jones’ show and was also named in the lawsuit, would also like to fire Jones, his lawyers added in the statement. Both parties agreed to complete this part of the deposit during the week of April 11th.
Lawyers for the Sandy Hook family are preparing to fire Jones as part of the 2018 defamation lawsuit, after he repeatedly described the shooting at Sandy Hook that killed 20 children and six adults in 2015 as a joke made by crisis actors. Jones has since testified in another statement that the shooting was real.
