Those who knew her describe her as a fun, affectionate and loyal person with a silly personality. “Her family loved her, everyone around her loved her. She could always put a smile on your face,” says 23-year-old Zoe Willard. The two women connected because they were young mothers. Schieble has a two-year-old daughter and Willard a one-year-old daughter. “She was an amazing mom. [Her daughter] she was first in every day of her life, and everything she did revolved around it [her]”, Says Willard. “Jamie took me under her wings and showed me exactly what needed to be done. I was a young mom and so on, so we bonded about it and became very, very close friends.” Willard, left, said she and Scheible, right, were tied up because they were young moms. Police say Seibel is the 10th homicide victim in the city this year. Officers said they were called to the 300 block of Templeview Drive NE at about 7:15 p.m. on April 7 for shooting reports. They found a woman unconscious with a medical problem. She was taken to Foothills Hospital, but later died of her injuries. Police said they had not yet determined the motive for the shooting, but believed the incident was targeted.

‘Serious damage’

Schieble’s death is a “heavy loss” for Willard and the rest of their friends who participated in a group text message. They used to talk every day and send each other Snapchats, says Willard. She describes her friend as the “party life” who got along easily with everyone she knew. Seibel recently lived with her boyfriend in Calgary and her daughter lived with her parents in Okotoks, says Willard. The two friends were meeting with their daughters who were playing together. “We always called them groomsmen,” she said, adding that Seibel handed her her daughter’s clothes.

Caring and funny

Willard and Seibel’s other girlfriend, Kayla Campbell, both describe her as caring. “Whenever one of her friends needed help, she would leave everything alone to go and help him. It did not matter how big a mess he was in, if he needed her he was there,” Campbell wrote in a CBC message. . Campbell has known Seibel since high school, but they have been particularly close in recent years. “She was the tiniest person I knew. She may have reached my shoulder height, but my God, her personality did not match her height,” Campbell wrote. “Of all my friends, she had the dumbest and biggest personality. Her energy was unparalleled.” Kayla Campbell, left, says Scheible, right, had a silly and great personality. (Submitted by Kayla Campbell)
Rosalee Mosson went to Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks with Scheible. When Mosson was in 10th place, Seibel was in 12th place and they joined the merry-go-round team together. “It was the reason I was left in the mood. She was so extroverted and hospitable,” Mosson wrote in a CBC message. “It is true that everyone says that her smile lit up a room.” In a statement issued by the police, Seibel’s family described her as “beautiful, free-spirited, quirky and funny and always brought a smile to our faces”. They said he was an affectionate person who always helped others. “She is loved by many friends and was the best mother, big sister, daughter and granddaughter. We love her and we are overwhelmed with sadness.”
