That’s the word from 9to5Mac, which got this particular piece of information from Apple’s most trusted leak source: Apple’s own website. Apparently, the company accidentally dropped a live support document for an “Apple 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapter” and the 9to5 managed to take a screenshot before taking it. 9to5Mac Screenshot of an Official Support Document Confirming the Name “Dual USB-C 35W Power Adapter” Screenshot by 9to5Mac This is most likely the GaN charger “about 30 W” that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote on Twitter last month, who said he would have “a new form factor design” by 2022. You could quickly charge an iPhone 13 Pro Max and an Apple Watch at the same time with this power level, or an M1 MacBook Air and a watch, or an iPad and an Apple Watch, or a pair of iPhones or an iPad Pro and an iPhone with slower pace, or … is USB-C, so there are many possibilities. It would not be Apple’s first GaN charger – it would be the 140 W power adapter it shipped with the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. But unless I’m wrong, it would be the first dual-port charger Apple ever made, and certainly the first with USB-C. In fact, there is a hole in the shape of a dual USB-C that seems to be waiting for it in the Apple Store. Apple has Belkin chargers with a USB-C port and a 32W charger with USB-C and USB-A ports, but not the Belkin dual USB-C charger – and we’re talking about Apple’s top accessory partner. However, you can find several dual-port USB-C chargers outside the Apple Store, including many with higher speeds. Note that this device will offer a total of 35 W, not 35 W per port. 9to5Mac states that the support document states that each port can operate in one of the following four modes: either 5VDC / 3A, 9VDC / 3A, 15VDC / 2.33A or 20VDC / 1.75A. This will allow two devices to easily charge at 15W or one at 27W and one at 5W, but we need to see which combinations of devices can work. The support document does not indicate when the charger may arrive, but it does say that a USB-C cable will not be included.
