The 81-year-old man and the 70-year-old woman were riding in a silver Astra car on Barony Street in Auchinleck when it collided around 9.55 on Friday morning. Police are appealing for information as they try to establish the full circumstances of the incident. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the death of both was confirmed. Police investigating the incident are asking witnesses to come. Sergeant Craig Beaver said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased couple and investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what happened. “We invite anyone who has information that could assist in our investigation. “Specifically, if you have shots from a dashboard camera that could help, contact us.”
