On Tuesday, the Kelowna RCMP announced that Dante Ognibene-Hebbourn, 22, of Kelowna, faces a second-degree murder charge.

Harmandeep Kaur, 24, was killed while working on a security guard at UBC Okanagan on February 26. Police say they were fatally attacked at 5:55 a.m. by someone else working on campus. Following the attack, police said they had arrested a suspect under the Mental Health Act. The investigation was led by the Kelowna Serious Crimes Unit. Ognibene-Hebbourn’s next court date is April 6.
