EXCLUSIVE: President Biden, in 2017, wrote a college letter of recommendation for the son of a Chinese executive who did business with Hunter Biden, according to emails examined by Fox News Digital. The president has repeatedly denied that he discussed Hunter’s business ventures with his son. Fox News Digital has received emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates involved in Rosemont Seneca’s joint venture with Chinese investment companies Bohai Capital and BHR. HUNTER BIDEN REQUESTS KEYS FOR NEW “OFFICE COMPANIONS” JOE BIDEN, CHINESE “APOSTLE” TO CEFC PRESIDENT, EMAIL Hunter had a 10% stake in BHR just last year, the White House had previously acknowledged. Hunter’s lawyer told the New York Times in November that he had since been sold. In an email dated January 3, 2017 to Hunter Biden and business associates Devon Archer and Jim Bolger, BHR CEO Jonathan Li wrote: “Men[sic], find the attached biography of my son, Chris Lee. “It implements the following colleges for this year,” Li wrote, citing Brown, Cornell and New York University. Li attaches an “updated” version of his son’s CV to a subsequent email. Hunter’s collaborator, James Ballger, Hunter and Archer responded by saying “they have received the updated CV”. “Let [sic] “See how we can be useful here to Chris,” Bulger wrote. Several weeks later, on February 18, 2017, Eric Schwerin, who was president of Rosemont Seneca, responded to Li. “Jonathan Hunter asked me to send you a copy of the letter of recommendation that he asked his father to write on behalf of Christopher for Brown University,” Schwerin wrote. Let us know if you have any questions. Better, Eric.” Dr. Christina Paxson is the president of Brown University. Lee replied, “Hi Eric, just look at the email. It’s just great! Thanks a lot!” “And Hunter, thank you very much,” Lee continued. “The best to all of you.” Fox News Digital was unable to review the letter of recommendation that Joe Biden allegedly wrote about Lee’s son. It is unclear if Lee’s son was admitted to Brown University and if so, if he attended. The emails came from a laptop said to belong to Hunter Biden. Asked about the content of the emails, White House Deputy Spokesman Andrew Bates told Fox News Digital: “We are not commenting on the laptop.” A Brown University spokesman told Fox News Digital that “for confidentiality, we do not ask our secretary’s office, reception desk or any other office when we receive requests from the media for information about Brown applicants.” “Given both the requirements of federal law and Brown himself’s commitment to the confidentiality of student records, we do not accept these requests because we would not be free in any way to share information about any particular applicant with Brown or letters of recommendation to “We support any student application,” the spokesman told Fox News Digital. President Biden has categorically denied knowing his son’s business activities. Just Tuesday, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki was asked to confirm whether Biden’s statement that he had not discussed his business relationship abroad with his son was still valid, to which she replied: “Yes.” FEDERAL INVESTIGATION CONTINUES FOR HUNTER BIDEN EVEN AFTER PAYING HIS TAX Hunter Biden has been under federal investigation into his “tax cases” since 2018, according to a source familiar with the matter. Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Biden was the target of a major jury investigation, a well-positioned government source told Fox News. According to the source, “target” means that there is “a high probability that the person committed a crime”, while “subject” is someone who “does not know for sure” that he has committed a crime “. The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was based in part on Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) on suspicious overseas transactions. Another source familiar with the investigation told Fox News in December 2020 that the SARs involved funds from “China and other foreign nations.” A Treasury official, who did not comment on the investigation, spoke widely about the SARs, telling Fox News that the SARs were being filed by financial institutions “if there is anything unusual about a particular transaction”. The official noted, however, that an SAR could be part of a money laundering or tax investigation. Meanwhile, the grand jury continues to investigate Hunter Biden’s international business dealings — even after paying off a tax liability following the announcement of an investigation into his “tax cases.” CLICK TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APPLICATION Hunter Biden, weeks after the 2020 presidential election, issued a statement acknowledging the federal investigation into his “tax cases.” “I take this issue very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these issues will demonstrate that I have handled my case lawfully and appropriately, including for the benefit of professional tax advisers,” Biden said in a December 2020 statement.
