Rahees Mahmood, 18, who was a passenger on the bike, died after suffering severe head injuries when the vehicle collided with a car. The 19-year-old driver of the four-wheeler was also seriously injured. Jordan Glover, 24, of Bradford, denies killing Mahmoud. Attorney Jason Pitter QC told Bradford Crown Court the day of the crash that a VW Golf had suffered extensive damage and Mr. Glover was allegedly involved in the incident. Later that day he said Mr. Glover was sitting in a Ford Focus with others when they saw Mr. Mahmood and the other man riding a quad bike. The lawyer said the couple, who were not wearing helmets or protective clothing, appeared to be armed with a fork and a machete. He told the jury that Mr Glover had then started a “hot chase” with the Ford Focus, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph (95 km / h). He was told in court that he then deliberately drove to the back of the four-wheeler before leaving the scene. “Rahees Mahmood died as a result of the accused’s actions driving him off the road,” Mr Pitter said. “The prosecution does not need to prove that Jordan Glover necessarily wanted to kill anyone. “Enough that he intended to cause really serious harm.” After his arrest, Mr Glover told police he had been dragged into “tensions” in the area and that he and his family had been threatened. He claimed he was afraid he would be injured or killed. Mr Glover, of Thorpe Edge in Bradford, said he was trying to get the men out of the area. He has admitted to causing death by dangerous driving, but denies the murder and an alternative charge of intentional homicide. The defendant also denies charges of grievous bodily harm in relation to the driver of the bicycle and further charges of criminal injury. The trial continues.
