At approximately 7:05 p.m., Victorville City Fire declared the incident an “Active Shooter” and set up a victim collection point in the Barnes & Noble parking lot. UPDATE @ 20:50: Sheriff officials say the suspect has fled the scene and deputies are currently investigating. In addition, officials confirmed that this appears to be an isolated incident and is not considered an active sniper incident. The mall will be closed for the rest of the night. UPDATE @ 10:10 p.m. – Robin Moraga-Saldarelli informed VVNG and said that her granddaughter was the one who was shot in the mall this afternoon. “3 gunshot wounds to the hand. She broke her upper bone. “She is OK and will recover in time,” Robin said. UPDATE @ 10:35 p.m. – The victim’s family spoke to Fox11 News and said they did not identify the suspected perpetrator as someone they know or recognize.
