After years of dancing around it, shrugging their shoulders and getting more and more hints about it, the producers of Better Call Saul finally came out and said: Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will be appearing in the final season of Better Call Saul. This is per series producer and co-creator Peter Gould, who confirmed tonight at PaleyFest what he and Vince Gilligan hinted at yesterday’s premiere: Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will both appear in last piece of the prequel. episodes, which are expected to debut on April 18. “I do not want to spoil things for the audience,” Gould told a panel on the show. “But I’ll say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Will we see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ “Instead of avoiding it, I’ll just say yes.” Not that it’s necessarily a completely solved question about how they will work on Saul Goodman’s story, probably months, if not years, before meeting Breaking Bad’s “Better Call Saul.” “Like the conditions or whatever, you just have to find out for yourself, but I have to say this is one of the many things I think you will find out this season.” Series star Bob Odenkirk tried to feel even more comfortable with his inside information, saying, “If you can believe it, there is more,” but Gould interrupted him. Confirming the news, Gould put an official stamp on a statement he and Gilligan made last night, when they agreed, “It would be a shame if the show ended without [Cranston and Paul] appears, does not it? ” And, really: The nice thing about having a creative team that has created so much narrative goodwill over the last 14 years or so is that when they promise that this -probably- inevitable crossover will happen “in a way you have not done” they have not see you again “, it is shockingly easy to believe them. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes when the final part of the sixth season of Better Call Saul arrives. [via Variety]
