“I was extremely worried. I took a break at the beginning of the pandemic. I started treatment [and] “trying to feel better,” he said.
Her struggles will be evident on her upcoming album, said the 25-year-old.
“I was just vomiting into a microphone in the form of a melody. It really doesn’t get any more personal than that. I was all the flow of consciousness,” he said.
She is now in a better position and attributes it to her vulnerability and her efforts to heal.
“There is a sense of self-confidence that I feel like I did not have before because I was so anxious all the time,” he told People. “I really feel like I live my truth and I tell my truth.”
Cabello and her boyfriend of two years, singer Shawn Mendes, divorced in November. It is not clear if her new album will deal with their previous relationship. The three-time Grammy nominee is no stranger to using social media to be vulnerable. Last year, he published a TikTok in which he encouraged women to embrace their physical body. Last week, she shared her fights with her body image on Instagram.
“Familia” is going to be released on Friday.
