Davis had not played since Dec. 17 after developing symptoms of myocarditis, a mild heart condition, after a period of COVID-19.
The illness has kept the 21-year-old from Edmonton out of Canada’s last six CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers. Canada made it 4-2-0 during this period to qualify for the eaves tournament for the first time since 1986.
He played the first match of the quarterfinals of the Champions League at left back for Bayern on Wednesday. The second match will take place on Tuesday in Munich.
Davis, who was recently named CONCACAF Player of the Year, made seven appearances for Canada in the final round of the World Cup qualifiers.
The team made a 3-0-4 record in those games, including a 4-1 victory over Panama that scored a goal from Davis.
Bayern said on January 5 that Davis had been included in a long list of players who tested positive for COVID, adding that the fast back was fine and isolated at home.
