COVID-positive hospitalizations increased by about 4% in the previous day. The provincial government announced on Tuesday 258 new cases, 85 of which were in the Internal Health area. Throughout BC, there are 334 people treated (out of 321) with COVID-19 and 35 in the intensive care unit. 63 people are being treated in the 1st district, of which four are being treated in the intensive care unit. About half of these hospitalizations are “accidental”, meaning that the patient was initially admitted to the hospital for a reason other than COVID. The daily announcement of events on Tuesday is one of the last in BC, and after another on Wednesday, the province will change to a weekly update on Thursdays. New COVID-positive deaths will be announced on Thursday during the new weekly update. New cases include:

As of Tuesday, 93.5% of eligible individuals 12 years of age and older in BC received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 91.1% received the second dose and 57.8% received a third dose.

Vaccine cases of confirmed cases were not announced on Tuesday. As of April 5, those who were not vaccinated accounted for 12% of the BC population, while they accounted for 17% of COVID-19 intensive care patients in hospitals.
