Derbyshire Police were called to Ilkeston Road, Sandiacre, at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, as the street and sidewalk were strewn with Ginger Nuts and Bourbon Creams. A rescue operation for the fallen cookies was completed more than seven hours later. “It took police a moment to assimilate the scene in front of them, but they did not collapse and ensured that traffic could continue to move well,” said a Derbyshire police spokesman. “While the recovery had to approach the stage with enthusiasm, after a bit of adventure to ensure that all the right forms were completed, the wheels of the wagon rolled.” A rescue operation for the fallen cookies was completed more than seven hours later.
