Motorists in the area are experiencing significant delays with about five miles of traffic from the M62 junction heading east. These delays have been exacerbated by the works on the Uss bridge. The M18 was closed to the north, while emergency services rushed to the spot around noon on Thursday (April 14). Traffic to the south is also affected by two lanes closed from junction M62 heading south. As it is understood from the conflict, no one from the public has been seriously injured. Speaking about the incident on a Goole Facebook page, Annie Hollowell said: “My fiancé is busy right now. Trucks and a car were involved. A truck was full of pigs, where the roof was torn and there were dead pigs in both. “Side of the highway that cuts it into a lane. Two lanes were closed on my side of the road and I was about 20 minutes late. “As I got closer I realized that the lanes were closed because three dead pigs had been thrown from the truck on our side of the highway. There must have been six or seven more dead pigs on the other side – it was horrible.” Humberside police have confirmed that they are involved in a traffic collision at junction M62 and M18. The Inrix traffic service reports that the collision is between a car and an HGV. AA reports severe delays to the north as traffic is stationary near the crash site.
