Sometimes, the best part of sports is the pettiness that we witness in public. After ousting Evader Kane during an ice scramble on Tuesday night, Minnesota striker Wilde Wilde Ryan Hartman was fined $ 4,250 by the NHL for unsportsmanlike conduct after Kane checked on Kirill Kaprizov. At one point, Kane struggled with five opposing players as the referees got into the middle of a fight. Kane struggled off the ice throughout his NHL career. Earlier this season, the Oilers left wing was expelled from the NHL for 21 matches for tampering with a COVID vaccination card and violating protocols. He was investigated for gambling in his own league and throwing games and sued a Vegas casino for leaving a debt of half a million dollars. In 2016, five different people accused him of assault and just last year, as he and his ex-wife were in the middle of a divorce, they both filed restrictive measures against each other for domestic abuse. (There is a more detailed background to all of his legal issues in this August 2021 article). Anyway, back to the pettiness. Anna Kane, the aforementioned ex-wife, appeared yesterday after Hartman’s quarrel with Kane on the ice, in which he seems to be shouting “fuck you” to Kane. Anna posted a story on Instagram today with a snapshot of a Venmo payment to Hartmann, sending him $ 200 to help pay the fine for unsportsmanlike conduct. Hartmann said the fine was “worth it” and added: “This shows that we have five children in there, they did not have a man there to help him. “I do not think any of their children will defend him.” Kane has been in Edmonton since the end of January, after his contract was terminated by the San Jose Sharks. Anna was not the only one to help Hartmann – screenshots are circulating on Twitter showing Hartmann’s Venmo page overflowing with donations from fans, many of whom use the middle finger emoji as a payment description. Hartmann has gained some fans with his move – let’s just say that Kane is not the most beloved NHLer in the world.
