UPDATE 3:50 p.m A BC Fire Service helicopter has been called in to help extinguish the fire. A helicopter covers parts of the fire that spread across grass where access on foot is difficult. Crews continue to tackle the fire and appear to be dealing with hot spots now. UPDATE 3:30 p.m Firefighters have now extinguished most of the fire and slowed its spread up the hill. Crews are putting out the charred remains of the mobile home where the blaze started and are now dealing with a number of grass fires on the northern edge of the blaze. Traffic is still moving in both directions on the nearby 97 Freeway. ORIGINAL 3:15 p.m Firefighters rush to a structure fire on the Okanagan Lake waterfront near Bennet Bridge. A caravan on the Westbank First Nation is fully engulfed and flames are starting to climb the embankment towards the highway and bluff. A huge black plume of smoke is visible from the surrounding area. Witnesses report hearing propane tanks explode in flames. Castanet has reporters on the way to the stage.
