The police officers were on the stage in a company in the 10000 square of Tecumseh Road East at Forest Glade Drive shortly after the event. Superintendent Jason Crowley said several police units responded to a call for gunfire at 1:04 p.m. Crowley said there was an altercation inside the bowling alley and “it basically spilled into the parking lot very quickly”. “The staff there reacted appropriately,” Crowley said Saturday morning during a news conference at downtown police headquarters. “Everyone went out and that’s what happened. So it was very fast. “ Police say one gunman shot at a crowd of about 20 people, hitting five men. All five are being treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was reported to have traveled south to Forest Glade, west to Ridge Road and south to Esplanade Drive. Crowley said police are not sure how many suspects are involved, but have information that there may have been three people in the vehicle. “But at this point we do not know who fired,” he said. “We continue to make statements, to interview people.” Responding to questions from reporters, he also said it was unknown whether the five men shot knew each other. “Police are still trying to get to the bottom of the controversy and the relationship of any of the people involved,” Crowley said. “There is no concern about further public danger, as this incident appears to be isolated from the events early in the morning (Saturday),” said acting Windsor Police Chief Jason Bellaire.

“We are specifically examining the time frame for the time period from 12:30 a.m. “(Saturday) in the morning until 1:30 a.m.,” Crowley said. “I want to emphasize that any suspects are currently pending and should be considered armed and dangerous. “Please, if this vehicle is found, do not approach it or any suspects who may be associated with it, but call 911.” Bellaire noted the indiscreet way of shooting. “The utter recklessness and indifference to human life in this case is shocking,” he said. “The fact that no one died as a result of this suspect’s actions is just luck. “I want to reassure everyone that the Windsor Police Department will do everything in its power to apprehend this person and that we will continue to invest in anti-violence and anti-crime strategies.” Police ask those traveling to the area with cameras or any citizens or businesses in the area equipped with video surveillance to contact the major crime branch at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or at catchcrooks.com.
