Gerald Russell Frommel, 37, is wanted for the second-degree murder of Jamie Lynn Seibel. On Thursday, police responded to reports of gunfire in the northeastern Temple community to find Seibel unconscious and seriously injured. He died a short time later, according to police. Frommelt is described as 6-2 and weighs about 250 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police say they have found that Fromelt and Seibel “were recently in a relationship”. “We believe this is a homely-motivated homicide,” said the sergeant. Martin Skiaveta. “This is a tragic death and we ask the public to help us locate Frommelt to bring justice to Jamie’s family.”
Frommelt’s criminal history
Frommelt has a criminal record dating back at least 13 years. In 2009, the Manitoba RCMP sought out Frommelt, a Hells Angels associate with the local puppet gang, the Zig Zag Crew. At the time, police said they were dealing with cocaine trafficking and other offenses. The following year, Frommelt pleaded guilty to cocaine trafficking, involvement in a criminal organization and money laundering. He was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. In 2018, Calgary police again asked the public for help in finding Fromelt, after being charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and three counts of failing to comply with a court order. The charge of assault concerned two victims who were attacked with a bat after a man hid in their yard waiting to come out.
The Seibel family “flooded with grief”
In a statement issued by the police, Seibel’s family described her as “beautiful, free-spirited, quirky and funny and always brought a smile to our faces”.
They said he was an affectionate person who always helped others.
“She is loved by many friends and was the best mother, big sister, daughter and granddaughter. We love her and we are overwhelmed with sadness.”
Anyone with information about Frommelt is kindly requested to call the police emergency number 403-266-1234.
