A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson in order to endanger his life after a fire broke out in a rooftop house in Preston, Lancashire, last night. Now the police have made an urgent call for information.
Emergency crews rushed to the property at Coronation Crescent around 8pm last night (Friday, April 8) following reports of a fire with several people trapped inside the house. A woman and two children were rescued from the property and the 20-year-old woman remains in hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, LancsLive reports.

Her two children – a three-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy – remain in critical condition. Their relatives are with them in the hospital and are supported by specially trained officers.
The fire is currently being treated as unexplained and a joint investigation is under way with the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to determine exactly what happened. The police asked anyone with information to contact them immediately.
Det Ch Insp Graham Hill, of the Force Major Research Team, said: “Two children are being treated in the hospital with life-threatening injuries and first and foremost our thoughts are with them and their parents at this terrible time. We have specially trained officers with them in the hospital.

“At the moment, the fire is being treated as unexplained and an investigation has been launched with the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause. We now need to contact you if you have any information that might help with this investigation.
“Maybe you were in the Coronation Crescent area last night between 7.30pm. and 20.30 p.m. and you saw something suspicious, you may have an instrument camera or CCTV that has recorded the address during these hours or you may have other information that you think may be important.
“Everything you know, we will urge you to contact us immediately. “We are also aware of rumors circulating on the internet about an explosion and we would like to clarify that this is not the case.”
Anyone with information is kindly requested to contact 101, citing the April 8, 1305 calendar. A 24-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of arson in order to endanger his life and remains in custody.
