Bonnie O’Dea, mother of Raven Alisha Ali-O’Dea, 29, and grandmother of Layla, Jayden and Alia Ali-O’Dea, died Wednesday. Raven, Nazir’s husband, and their three children died after their house was engulfed in flames on March 28. The family’s funeral was held last Saturday, as O’Dea was in critical condition in hospital. Two family members confirmed to CBC News that he died Wednesday. The family said they were in deep mourning and chose not to comment further. The Fire Department also confirmed that a sixth person had died. “Our thoughts are with the family and the community during this difficult time,” said Sean Driscoll in a statement. “We can also confirm that there were no functional smoke alarms in the house at the time of the fire. The investigation is ongoing and we have no further comment at this time.” On the day of the fire, O’Dea, who was staying at home, was taken to a critical injury center. Peel’s police told CBC News that “they were not able to share anything further at this time.”
