It is always good when the guerrillas find the exhaust door. I do not think anyone will disagree if I suggest that Alec Manoa just made the best start to the youth season. 6 participations, just one hit, 4 walks and 7 hits. Three of the walks took place in the third inning, with the help of a highly unstable Paul Emmel behind the plate. Emel had both teams yell at him at various times. I’m curious to see the “Umpire Scorecards” card in this game tomorrow. Alec seems to be saving his best starts for the Bronx. And we had a tremendous defense, especially this double game that started with top ballerinas Santiago Espinal and Bo Bichette. My sister says Bo is the man and said I could quote her, so I did. Now he will want to pay. Bo had another great shot earlier in the game (he also threw out twice on fairly easy ground balls in which Vlad made nice plays. Teoscar Hernandez also made a nice side slide just before the double game above. Offensively, we did a lot. George Springer went 3 to 5, scoring his second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the third. And he had a double RBI in seventh, bringing the Santiago Espinal home. Espinal and Hernandez also had 3 hits. And Lourdes Gurriel had our other success. This means that the other five batter had 0 for. Bo was 0 out of 5 with 3 hits. Chapman 0 for 4 to 3 hits. And we were less than impressed with Zack Collins, who went 0 to 3 with 2 hits. Bullpen did the job for us tonight:

Trevor Richards had problems, giving up a hit and a walk while scoring 1. Adam Simber took the double shown above, taking Richards out of the problem and then putting in the eighth, hitting. And Jordan Romano abandoned a first single, scored a double, another single, and scored his third save of the year.

This is 26 consecutive rebounds converted by Jordan Romano, a new #BlueJays record (Tom Henke, 25). – Keegan Matheson (@KeeganMatheson) April 12, 2022 Jays of the Day: Manoah (0.353 WPA), Springer (0.297) and Cimber (0.159). No Suckage Jays. Bo had a low score, -.090, but he played some nice games on the pitch, so I can not complain too much. Good Triumphs over Evil. Jace is now 3-1. Tomorrow we will see Yusei Kikuchi in a regular season game for the Jays. Nestor Cortes begins for the Empire of Evil.
