The RCMP was called to the accident on Highway 16, located between 74W and 75W, around 4:55 p.m. When Mountis arrived at the scene, they discovered that two trucks were involved in a head-on collision. One of the trucks was still on the highway, while the other was in a ditch. The two drivers – a 44-year-old from Gladstone and a 50-year-old from Sandy Bay First Nation – were found dead at the scene. No one else was inside the vehicles. RCMP officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
