Most parts of the island are hot today with heat warnings for the interior. Temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees today in some places with humidity high. Meteorologist Dale Foote says people should drink plenty of water and try to stay out of the sun for long periods of time. Heat warnings are in place for the area from Springdale to central Newfoundland to Terra Nova with overnight lows dropping to just 18 degrees.
