He was rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries. Gaurav Vasudev, the victim’s cousin, wrote on Twitter that the family did not yet know what had happened. “My cousin Kartik Vasudev was shot yesterday at a subway station in Toronto,” he wrote. “We still do not know what happened.” Vasudev was a first-semester student in marketing management at Seneca College, the college said in a statement. The school said it was “saddened to hear of the tragic death”. “Our thoughts are with Mr Vasudev’s family, friends and classmates. Counseling is available to students and staff.” Toronto police are continuing to investigate the homicide and are asking any witnesses to appear.
