The mood in the British and Ukrainian military circles has become more positive, with government officials believing that the Russian army is “exhausted” and unable to occupy territory in the long run. A list of markets compiled by Ukraine and submitted to NATO allies is believed to include aircraft, tanks, armored vehicles, long-range artillery, anti-ship missiles and air defense systems. Keir Giles, a senior adviser at the Chatham House think tank, said that as the fighting shifted, it appeared that Ukraine needed weapons systems that could go deeper into the rear of Russian forces and also be able to deal large-scale strikes on the population.
