Police responded to reports of gunfire in Templeview Drive NE at around 7:15 p.m. and found a woman who had been shot. She was also unconscious with a medical problem, police said.
Rescuers rushed the victim to Foothills Medical Center in a life-threatening condition but he was later pronounced dead.
After an autopsy on Friday, police identified her as 23-year-old Jamie Lynn Scheible from Calgary.
“We are continuing to investigate this deadly shooting and the motives have not yet been determined,” said the sergeant. Martin Skiaveta in a press release.
“Our investigators believe this was a targeted incident and do not believe it was accidental.”
Residents of the area say that this latest incident has bothered them.
“I have children. It is scary. It is very scary. I’m just afraid for the safety of my children. It ‘s a shame,” said Abdul Salam Abdul Ghani.
“This has never happened to me with my neighbor. They had a lot of problems, such as domestic unrest. The police have been called here many times, but not like that.”
Calgary police are investigating a death at Templeview NE’s 300 block on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Sable’s death is Calgary’s 10th homicide in 2022.
The Calgary Police Department reported just 19 homicides last year.

A statement from the victim’s family, released by Calgary Police on Friday night, said they were “devastated by the loss”.
“She was the most amazing, affectionate and kind person who always helped others. She was beautiful, free-spirited, quirky and funny and always brought a smile to our faces,” the family wrote.
“She is loved by many friends and was the best mother, big sister, daughter and granddaughter. We love her and we are overwhelmed with sadness.”
The family is also asking for privacy as they mourn.
