Katie Tidmars is accused of killing one-year-old Ruby Thompson after the girl fell ill at her home in Leicester on August 11, 2012, Leicestershire Police said. The force said Ruby was taken to hospital but died two days later. Tidmarsh, of Station Road, Littlethorpe, Leicester, was charged with murder and appeared before the crown and city magistrates’ court on Monday. A tentative trial date has been set for March 6, and no pleas have been entered on the charges, a court spokesman said. Police said two people were arrested in November 2012 as part of the investigation but were released without further action. A court spokesman said Tidmarsh had been granted bail and a hearing had yet to be set.
