EFootball – the new name for PES – reached a catastrophic end late last year, despite Konami warning players that it would arrive in an extremely limited form similar to a demo. Konami insisted that the game would evolve over time, but gamers have had to wait months for this v1.0.0 update to arrive. Meanwhile, the eFootball mobile spin-off has been postponed and the game’s controversial premium player package has been withdrawn from sale. “We were so focused on getting the game out on time that we lost the most important thing – quality,” Konami said in a blog post today. “Of course, we met with critical reviews from rightfully disappointed fans. “The development team has worked hard since then to regain the trust of our esteemed fans, as well as to make the game even more enjoyable for football fans around the world. “Although 6 months have passed since the initial release last September, we believe that we have finally reached a level of quality that we can be sure of. Hence the decision behind the release of v1.0.0.” So what’s in version 1.0.0? Konami has moved to a client-side server system to improve Internet connectivity, restore “favorite features” to Game Plan, and implement the “Dream Team” feature (formerly Creative Team). The defense – which Konami says was the game’s most common cause for complaint – has improved. Button settings have been changed and a shoulder charge has been added, as well as a “Call for Pressure” command for defensive teamwork. Konami says the passes have also improved, with the passes now faster and able to take into account the rebound of the ball as an accelerating force. Various passing errors have also been corrected. Improved shooting speed and better ball dribbling as well. More details about the update will be revealed as soon as it goes live on April 14th. Finally, the mobile version of eFootball 2022 is overdue – there is no further news on when it will appear.
