Long queues, crowded check-in lounges and abandoned luggage at Manchester Airport have led passengers to describe it as an “absolute nightmare” over the past two weeks.  Warnings were given that someone could be injured in the chaos, as leaders urged the administration to “catch up or leave”.
The chaos led boss Karen Smart to leave earlier this week to “chase new opportunities” as the airport apologized for the long delays.  And, on Wednesday, Mayor Andy Burnham warned that queues would last at least “two months” and told passengers to arrive three hours earlier for their flight.

The airport had previously stated: “As we continue to recover from the pandemic and the number of passengers is increasing, the queues may be longer than usual. If you are planning to travel in the coming weeks, please arrive as soon as possible. “The airline allows.
