Alli only joined the Toffees in January from Tottenham, but had no influence on Goodison Park since his arrival, with Warnock claiming he did not fit into Everton’s Frank Lampard style of play. The English international has not yet scored in six appearances for the Toffees and has not been able to get off the bench in the last four outings. And Warnock has sympathy for the 26-year-old, as he feels that Everton is not playing with his strengths. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Warnock said: “When I look at Dele, I feel sorry for him. “Everton are not a team good enough or strong enough to give him the ball in the right areas. “You play him with Calvert-Lewin. Play him from the attacker and give him the ball in their areas. But they do not. They are under the seabed all the time. They spend it in stupid areas. They do not play ball on their feet and take runners, something they are good at. I think if you put him in the team of Liverpool or Manchester City, then you will make a damn player. Alli has won 37 appearances for England, but has not appeared for the Three Lions since 2019.
Dele Alli’s career in transparency
The former Spurs man had the opportunity to complete a possible transfer of 40 million pounds to Merseyside, after having difficulties with successive coaches at Tottenham. After falling out of favor with Mauricio Pochettino, Alli rekindled his career early in Jose Mourinho’s term. However, this did not last long and the former MK Dons star had a similar fate under Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte before they finally showed him the door. Everton are currently four points behind 18th-placed Burnley in the Premier League table, with eight games left. But they increased their chances of survival with a huge home win over Manchester United last weekend. Next for the Lampard men is the home match against Leicester on Wednesday, April 20th.
