The Secretary of State toured a school in Peterborough on Thursday and got off to a rocky start. After asking one child his name, he quickly summed up the mood by saying, “It’s so awkward.” When Ms Truss asked the same student to give her a tour of the school, he stated: “Why was I singled out for this?” Another child asked Mrs Truss where Boris Johnson was before she said: “Do me a favor when you become prime minister – kick him out.” In a rather sheepish tone, Ms Truss replied: “Boris is back in No 10 Downing Street… he’ll have to leave at that point, it’s true.” To watch more videos from The Telegraph, subscribe to our YouTube channel.
