Merseyside police rushed to Lavan Close in Everton around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, following reports of a man being stabbed. Just at the scene, police found a 36-year-old man with a knife wound to the side of his body. The man was rushed to the hospital for further treatment but unfortunately died a short time later. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. READ MORE: “Knocks” and “shouts” near the scene where the man died after a knife A 60-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Liverpool were later arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been detained and will be interrogated by police. The man was named locally by devastated neighbors and friends as Gary Morgan. His relatives have been informed. One woman described Gary as always “sparkling and talkative”, while another said “RIP Gary, sad news”. Neighbors on the street said he would “always say hello” as he passed. On Monday, neighbors living in the area described their shock after hearing the news. One person told ECHO: “It ‘s really, really quiet here,” while another said “everyone stays for themselves”. People said they saw and heard the emergency services arrive at the scene but did not know what had happened. Speaking to ECHO, a neighbor said: “I did not hear anything and I saw the police at half past 6/7 am, I saw a patrol car outside the house. My neighbor told me after midnight that there was a patrol car there.” Another added: “All we saw were police cars parked at 12 in the morning, we heard nothing.” One person said he heard “banging and screaming at 2am this morning”. They added: “It is quiet that I have lived here for ten years.” Police and medical examiners remained at the scene today and medical examiners were seen carrying a series of bags of evidence. An ambulance was also present, but left around 10:25 a.m. Closed-circuit surveys are conducted in the area and from house to house. Chief Detective Mark Drew said: “Although we have made two rapid arrests in the area, our investigation is still at a very early stage, as we are trying to determine exactly what happened, so it is vital that anyone has information that could help touch our inquiries. “This was a tragic incident in which a man unfortunately lost his life.
