Police confirmed that a man about 20 years old, who was allegedly in possession of a knife, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and resisted arrest.
Police were first alerted to the scene at Mutley Plain at 2:51 p.m. this morning (April 8). As a result, police completely closed the area with roads and paths closed from Seaton Avenue to Alexandra Street.

Around 7.45am, much of these cages were removed and traffic was allowed. Some smaller benches are still closed with a lane and the trails on both sides of the Mutley Plain are still closed to the public.
A Devon and Cornwall police spokesman issued the following statement: “Police were called at 2:51 p.m. with reports of an incident that took place near the Premier store in the Mutley Plain area of Plymouth, where it is believed that a man was in possession of an Attending Unit and local investigations were conducted to locate the suspect.
At 2.57 in the morning, the police arrested a 20-year-old citizen on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and resistance to arrest. A local in his 30s suffered serious injuries, but is not considered life-threatening. remains at Derryford Hospital.
Police have completely closed the Mutley Plain area of Plymouth to undertake the investigation of the scene. Around 7.45am, much of it was removed and traffic was allowed to flow. some smaller clumps remain in place in the area.
