Leicestershire police have confirmed that they are investigating the attack after closing a section of Melton Road in Thurmaston for almost 12 hours. Police were initially called to the scene around 0.33 p.m. this morning (April 10) following reports of a man with a head injury. Information from the scene states that the 24-year-old victim was hit and fell to the ground. The man was injured in the head and taken to hospital. Teams of medical examiners were also found at the scene of the attack. The victim is currently in Nottingham Medical Center, where police have described his condition as critical but stable. No arrests have been made in connection with the attack. Police called anyone with information to come immediately. DS lead researcher Charlie Massarella said: “We know there was a significant gathering at a Melton Road facility near the White Hart Close turn earlier in the evening. “We have talked to many people who were there, but we need to talk to anyone who has information about what happened before this incident. “What happened that led to a quarrel?
