Emergency services rushed to the scene on Calder Street, Govanhill around 12.05 p.m. on Sunday 10 April. The incident was linked to a property in an apartment building and armed police officers were also found at the site. Calder Street was blocked between Westmoreland Street and Langside Road, right next to the Govanhill Library. Several police vehicles, fire engines and ambulances lined up on the road. A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) after the disturbance ended at around 5pm. Calder Street has since reopened and investigations into the full circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
