Markham Woman Drowns After Falling From Float Tube In Lake Simcoe

Emergency responders were initially dispatched to Holmes Point Park in Georgina around 2:50 p.m.  for reports of possible drowning.
Police say the 35-year-old woman was on a float tube in the lake when a gust of wind knocked the tube over and sent her into the water.
Members of the York Regional Police Marine Unit immediately began searching the lake to locate the woman with the assistance of the York Regional Police helicopter.
The woman’s body was then recovered from the lake at around 4pm
