Do you really need four or more cameras on your phone to take good pictures? Critics disagree and are often happy with just one good camera. This, however, is not the case with Indian consumers, as has always been the case. Recent research has shown that the majority of Indians prefer to have as many cameras on the back of their phone as possible, as they assume that the quality of the photo is directly proportional to the number of cameras! Based on the findings of a recent Corning Gorilla Glass consumer survey, these amazing data have emerged. According to the findings, almost 63 percent of Indian consumers prefer their smartphones to have at least three camera lenses to take the best photos and videos. And it’s not just that! There are more interesting findings in this regard.

Indians and their phone cameras: An interesting find!

The survey also yielded more interesting observations about Indian consumers and their preferences for smartphone cameras. The largest was that almost 94 percent of respondents believed that the number of camera lenses on a smartphone affects the quality of the photo. This is a very misconception and shows how smartphone brands influence Indian buyers with bold claims. Therefore, these macro cameras and the depth cameras that you see in these budget smartphones exist because consumers really want it. It also turned out that almost 42 percent of Indian consumers give priority to the camera and the brand when buying a new smartphone, as it is ready for the 36 percent of those who consider the price. Also, almost 34 percent of Indian smartphone users cited the scratched camera lens as one of their biggest concerns. The research also found that the most important features of a smartphone camera lens for Indian users are image sharpness, light absorption and fall resistance. Indian consumers are also looking for higher megapixels more, followed by HDR capability and Zoom range. Camera protection is a major concern and Corning itself manufactures the Gorilla Glass DX / DX Plus to protect the camera lens. Located in the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, this glass promises better scratch resistance and good visual performance. “Capturing 98% of the light for the camera lens, our composite glasses increase the full ability of the camera design and help to create high quality images and videos. “Gorilla Glass products with DX / DX + are the best combination of optical performance and industry protection for the ultimate consumer experience,” says Dr. Jaymin Amin Vice President and CEO, Corning Gorilla Glass.
