LOS ANGELES – A suspect driving a stolen motorcycle has been taken into custody by top authorities in a pursuit from Los Angeles County to Orange County, officials say.
The chase in two provinces started around 9:20 a.m. after the motorcyclist failed to retreat to the West Los Angeles area, the California Highway Patrol said.
The chase first began on Highway 405 near Los Angeles International Airport before the suspect traveled north toward Santa Monica. The suspect then drove to Centinela Avenue, where he returned to Highway 405, proceeded to Highway 10, and then joined Highway 5 in downtown Los Angeles.
Officials say the motorcyclist was picking up speeds of up to 100 mph while on Highway 10.

The high-speed chase continued in the southern lanes of Highway 5 in the Santa Fe Springs area, where the suspect reached speeds of almost 125 mph.

The suspect drove the authorities from Los Angeles County to Orange County on Highway 91 in Buena Park.
Shortly afterwards, the suspect was joined on motorway 57 heading south as the chase continued in Anaheim.
The chase continued on Highway 22 before the suspect drove the CHP on Highway 55.
After disembarking from Highway 55, the suspect stopped to refuel at a gas station on Chapman Avenue in Orange City where he was arrested by CHP officers.
