Russell Norman James Marsh appeared in Mold Crown Court on Wednesday, April 6, where he was convicted of the murder of Jade Marsh’s ex-wife, also known as Jade Ward. Marsh, of Chevrons Road in Sutton, has denied the charge of murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter, the DailyPost reports.

The 27-year-old mom from Sutton was described as a “wonderful, glamorous and popular girl” after she was found dead in her home on Thursday, August 26 last year. Marsh claimed that he believed he was “trying to drive him to suicide” in order to claim the 1 1 million life insurance payment. Her death sparked a major police investigation and led to Marsh’s final arrest. During the Marsh trial, Mrs. Ward’s friends and family gave emotional and compelling evidence of the mom’s troubled relationship with the defendant. Experts were also called before jurors to help them understand what might have happened in the bedroom of the murder night box. Marsh had previously told the court that a “white noise” had overwhelmed him after an altercation with Ms Ward and he tried to “stop” her from “putting” his arms around her neck and mouth. Moments later, she claimed to have met and she was dead. After the judge summed up the case on Wednesday, the jury was sent this afternoon to review their verdict. The court heard that Marsh would be sentenced “sooner rather than later,” according to Judge Rhys Rowlands, so the family could see the case resolved. This will take place on Tuesday 12 April. Addressing Marsh, the judge said: “She lost her life in your hands in a brutal and extremely violent attack after the end of a relationship. I shudder at the thought. Her young children were a few feet away when you did what you did. “I was watching you throughout this trial and you did not show the slightest remorse. There can be only one sentence for murder and that is life imprisonment.” He praised his friends and family for their “remarkable” restraint after hearing “fake and swear words” aimed at Ms. Warda and her family. Members of Ward’s family and friends leaned over the public gallery to thank the jury after the result. They also applauded the jurors as they left the courthouse.
