The nuns in the Greek Catholic Church of the Holy Family Brothers have opened their doors to almost 40 people who have been displaced due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Many of the children who arrived injured now laugh and hug their nuns. “In the beginning, they were a little wary. This is a new place for them. They came from cities where (there are shootings), where there are constant sirens (air raids),” said Sister Dominica, the nun. UN: 1,793 Ukrainian civilians killed since Russian invasion begins
At least 1,793 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 2,439 injured since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, according to a report. The number includes 458 men, 294 women, as well as 899 adults whose gender is unknown, the UN said. The number also includes 27 girls and 46 boys and an additional 69 whose gender is unknown, according to the report.
Russia may accuse Ukraine of provoking Moldova, Ukraine warns
Russia could orchestrate a provocation in Moldova and accuse it of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned late Sunday. “It is possible that the armed forces of the Russian Federation will take provocative actions in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova to accuse Ukraine of aggression against a neighboring state,” the general staff posted on Facebook.

Nearly 6.5 million Ukrainians internally displaced by Russia war, UN says
The latest figures from the United Nations show that more than 6.48 million people have been displaced inside Ukraine. The report comes as more than 4.2 million Ukrainian refugees have been forced to flee the war-torn country, with most traveling to Poland and neighboring countries. As negotiations continue to end the military siege, so does the military occupation of Ukrainian cities by Russia and the bombing of population centers by Russia.
Chechen leader predicts Russia “will occupy Kyiv and all other cities”
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said Monday morning that he believed Russian military forces would launch an overwhelming offensive to seize several Ukrainian cities, according to a report.
The possible attack will include attempts to occupy Mariupol, Kiev and Donetsk, the official said, Reuters reported.
“There will be an attack,” Kadyrov told the Telegram, “not only in Mariupol, but also in other places, cities and villages.”
“Luhansk and Donetsk – we will fully liberate first … and then we will take Kyiv and all the other cities,” he added.
The toll comes as at least 227 civilians are reported dead in Donetsk, while another 748 civilians are injured.
