The NBA completed its regular season 2021/22 on Sunday and the teams and firsts for this year’s play-in tournament have been determined. The following are the play-in matches:
Eastern Conference
Tuesday 12 April
Match 1: Cleveland Cavaliers (8) at the Brooklyn Nets (7), 7:00 p.m. ET The winner secures the No. 7 seed. the loser plays on Friday.
Wednesday 13 April
Match 2: Charlotte Hornets (10) at the Atlanta Hawks (9), 7:00 p.m. ET The winner plays on Friday. the loser is eliminated.
Friday 15 April
Winner of game 2 in Loser of Game 1, TBD time The winner secures the No. 8 seed. the loser is eliminated.
Western Conference
Tuesday 12 April
Match 1: Los Angeles Clippers (8) at the Minnesota Timberwolves (7), 21:30 ET The winner secures the No. 7 seed. the loser plays on Friday.
Wednesday 13 April
Match 2: San Antonio Spurs (10) at the New Orleans Pelicans (9), 21:30 ET The winner plays on Friday. the loser is eliminated.
Friday 15 April
Winner of game 2 in Loser of Game 1, TBD time The winner secures the No. 8 seed. the loser is eliminated.
Once the numbers 7 and 8 at each conference are set later this week, the eight first round matches will be finalized. These series of the first round will be released on April 16 and 17.
