The county reports two new COVID-related deaths and 41 hospitalizations due to the virus. Five of those treated are in intensive care. More than half of the province’s 41 hospitals are located in the Eastern Health area. Meanwhile, there are 393 confirmed COVID cases reported today and another 283 yesterday. These numbers do not reflect those that have not reported positive rapid test results or those that are positive and have not yet been tested. Although not all are being tested, public health officials believe the province may have reached the peak of Omicron infections and is declining.
