The mother of a 7-year-old girl who suffers from the final stage, “with days of life” can not afford to heat her home in the midst of the cost of living crisis in Britain. Anastasia Hazell, who suffers from a rare and aggressive brain tumor, cannot speak or walk and must eat through a feeding tube. Her family sank into a “nightmare” last March, when doctors said she would not survive for more than a year. The once “healthy and popular” schoolgirl deteriorates quickly – but faces some days without hot showers or baths as she reaches the end of her life. Her loved ones have tried to keep her warm with a wood-burning stove and heated blankets as savings are absorbed by rising energy bills. Wounded mother Alexandra Hazell, 35, says they are overwhelmed by fear of money. “The cost of living has just skyrocketed. “We had to turn off the heating twice,” he said. “We just want to spend time with her, but all my time is spent worrying about it.” The little one was given a year to live last March (Image: James Linsell-Clark / SWNS) Alexandra’s mom “spends all her time worrying about money” (Image: James Linsell-Clark / SWNS) Anastasia also lives with her 35-year-old dad James and three-year-old brother Ryker in a village near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Instead of spending the rest of her life in the hospital, she is cared for at home by nurses and family as they all wanted to be together. Alexandra, who works as an assistant, says she has noticed her daughter has been having difficulty breathing lately. He continued: “Anastasia is nearing the end and we still have to rattle for money. Our heating has been turned off twice as we have run out of oil. It is simply impossible. “It happened so badly that we all camped in her room with a wood burner. We threw wood on the fire to warm the room enough to spend the night. “The next time we ran out of oil we had to put heated blankets on Anastasia because it was turning blue. “We did not manage to give her a hot bath or shower sometimes. It ‘s crazy. There are weeks when we can not afford basic things. “We spent £ 1,000 for last Christmas, but that was consumed before the cost of food and heating.” Wounded mother says situation is “impossible” (Image: James Linsell-Clark / SWNS) The tragic situation comes after the seven-year-old was diagnosed with diffuse congenital slimy pontius – or DIPG – a week after her sixth birthday. She did very well in school and she liked to sing and dance. Her mother told her: “She was a perfectly healthy and normal girl. She had many friends and was one of the most popular girls in the class. “The diagnosis came out of nowhere. We noticed one day that she was a little weak on the one hand. “Doctors found a tumor and he was rushed to Adenbrook Hospital. Then her whole life changed. “It’s so bad. Last night he was struggling to breathe. I think about how many more days we will have. “It’s a nightmare.” A GoFundMe that started “raising money to create memories for the Hazell family” raised .000 30,000.
