Normandy police said they quickly eliminated any threats to the community, but police are still working to gather evidence. “It’s very impressive to me that a place I walk every day has now become a crime scene,” said Chase Masley, an OU student. Norman’s police picked up the call shortly after 11 a.m. and cordoned off Lindsey and Elm’s area for several hours, trying to find out exactly what happened. “I definitely texted my friends who live here on campus to make sure they were okay,” Masley said. Normandy police say all parties involved are being held accountable and there is no longer any threat to Norman Campus. It was already a busy day on campus with families visiting the school for their parents’s weekend. The students say they have never seen anything like it. “I walk from here every day, I walk from here every day,” said Collin Chapman, an OU student. “I’ve never seen anything so much as someone getting a speeding ticket, it’s definitely crazy.” It is still unclear how many people are involved in this and what led to this shooting. A student told News 9 that he received a notification from the school about the incident. “It was really amazing because I was just on campus earlier,” Masley said. “I went through it, so I did not know exactly what had happened, so I came down here to check it out.” Investigators at the scene also said no one else was injured in the shooting. If you have other information about this case, you will be asked to call Norman Police. This is a story that unfolds.
