Suspect Jeremiah Ryan, accused of shooting 16-year-old Angellyh Yambo, has been ordered to be held without bail until at least his next court appearance on Monday. Ryan, who was arrested earlier on Saturday, appeared in a black sweatshirt and black sweatshirt in Bronx court. As he entered the courtroom, he turned for a moment to look at both of his parents sitting in public. Prosecutors have demanded that Ryan be remanded in custody without bail because of the seriousness of the charges – which could mean a life sentence if convicted. Prosecutors also noted evidence obtained by police that the teenager was not released – including footage from the shooting, six 9mm bullets found at the scene, a gun seen seen being thrown out of Ryan’s building and clothes and sneakers he allegedly wore at the time of the shooting. Angellyh Yambo was 16 years old.manuel.yambo / Facebook Ryan’s defense attorney, Deveraux Cannick, acknowledged the people’s request “for now.” “We are pleased to reconsider [of bail]. I’m not sure the reservation is appropriate, but for now we will consent [to the people’s request] “and we will visit again after the discovery,” he told the court on Saturday. Judge Vidya Pappachan agreed to keep Ryan without bail, although Ryan has a perfect score for the proposed release from the New York Criminal Justice Department because he has no previous criminal record. “I understand that Mr. Ryan does not have a criminal record and has received a rating from the CJA 25 vs. 25, based on the charges before this court and the allegations made by the people, you do not believe, this court does not believe that “Any bail will be appropriate as the least restrictive condition to ensure the accused’s return to court,” Pappachan said. “He is being held in custody at this time.” As Ryan was taken out of the courtroom, he turned to his parents again. “I love you,” his mother told him. He turned and replied: “I love you too”. His dad followed “I love you”. Ryan told his parents he loved them before he left the courtroom. After the trial, Cannick said his client seemed to be doing “as he expected”, adding that he felt for Ryan’s family. “I’m sure like any other mother in a situation like this you do not know what ‘s going on,” she told The Post. “I’m sure she’s mourning like any other mother right now.” Angellyh Yambo was shot and killed a block away from University Prep Charter High School on Friday. Facebook / Angellyh Yambo Outside the courtroom, Ryan’s parents made no comment other than to say “we’re fine.” Ryan reportedly opened fire around 1:45 a.m. Friday near the South Bronx Campus on East 156th Street during an argument with four other people, a witness told The Post. When a member of the group made a move as if going for a gun, Ryan pulled out his gun and started firing, the witness said. Angellyh, a student at the University Prep Charter High School, was fatally beaten as she was caught in the crossfire. A bullet pierced her lung and pulmonary artery, according to the complaint against Ryan. Two other 16-year-old students were injured – a girl and a boy attending Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School and University Heights Secondary School, located on the same campus. They are expected to survive. None of the victims were targeted, police said.
