The Wellington County OPP said they were called to a crash at Sideroad 21 and 14th Line around 3:30 p.m., along with the Center-Wellington Fire Rescue and the Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service. Const. Joshua Cunningham said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the only person in the vehicle. The OPP said about a dozen school-age children and a driver were on the bus at the time of the crash, but no one on the bus was seriously injured. “After the conflict, the school bus company made arrangements for most students to return home,” Cunningham said, adding that some parents also came to the scene. Police said they have not yet determined which school the students are going to. Cunningham said they were still working to identify the dead driver and inform the family. Until late Wednesday afternoon, investigators remained on the scene and planned to keep the road closed as they continued to gather evidence.
